The Government today said the auction of spectrum will be completed by the end of the current financial year.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI has already submitted its recommendations to the government and inter-ministerial consultation on the recommendations are underway.
He also said that the framing of guidelines on both spectrum sharing and spectrum trading, will be fair, objective and reasonable.
The Minister further said the government is going to set up a National Cyber Coordination Centre for monitoring the cyber security in the country.
The government has been allocated 800 crore rupees for this propose and Inter-Ministerial consultations are also underway for this programme.
To promote the ambitious programme Digital India of NDA government, Mr Minister said that all 2.5 lakh gram panchayats in the country will be connected with the National Optical Fibre Network within three years to provide high speed broadband connectivity.
He said it will help to promote the e-governance and transform India into a digitally empowered society.
He also asked the state governments to work with the Centre in the implementation of this programme.
Mr Prasad also said that the government needs to strengthen the Common Service Centre,CSC so that public service scheme becomes feasible for the people at affordable Rates
Government will also going to set up 1836 mobile towers in the Left Wing Extermism areas to promote the mobile connectivity.
Minister also informed that the government is going to start comprehensive Telecom Development Plan to improve the mobile connectivity in the North East region.
While asking on the independence of Judiciary, he said that NDA government has got the highest regard for the judiciary and the independence of judiciary is sacred and sacrosanct for this government.
