Spectrum auction: Govt garners bids over Rs 1 lakh crore on 9th day

The government has garnered bids worth of over Rs 1 lakh crore from telecom operators at the end of ninth day of auction process of spectrum bands. Till now, 55 rounds of bidding have taken place. An official release said, over 87 per cent of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders and majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price. Bidding will recommence tomorrow as there is aggressive bidding going on in all bands of 2100 Mega Hertz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz bands. However, the government will not release results of the auction because of a court ruling.
