The Government garnered bids worth 86,000 crore rupees from telecom operators at the end of fourth day of spectrum auction yesterday, crossing the targeted minimum amount of 82,000 crore rupees. The government may rake in above 1 lakh crore rupees from spectrum sale if bidding continues at robust pace. Till now, 24 rounds of bidding have taken place in four days. At the end of 17 rounds yesterday, the value stood at 77,000 crore rupees. However, the government will not release results of the auction because of a court ruling. The auction will resume tomorrow as there is still unsold spectrum left.The auction is the biggest ever sale of 2G and 3G airwaves where government is selling spectrum in four bands 2,100 Megahertz, 1,800 Megahertz, 900 Megahertz and 800 Megahertz.
