The special train, carrying over 12,000 passengers, will start its journey to Bangaluru at 1.15 pm today from Paltan Bazar station in Guwahati. The train has 17 coaches and will reach Bangaluru on Monday.
Senior Police officials said special security arrangement had been made to ensure safe journey of the train. About nine Assam Police and Railway Protection Force personnel will escort the passengers throughout the journey. The Assam Government also urged other state governments to ensure the safety of the train en-route its journey to Bangaluru. The District Administrations also provided bus services from various places to Paltan Bazar Railway stations.
Meanwhile, the police have so far arrested 431 persons for indulging in violence during ethnic clashed and another 102 miscreants for their involvements in anti-social activities during Tuesday’s Assam bandh called by the All Assam Minority Students Union.
