The Special train that left Guwahati on September 1st has reached Bangalore early morning today. The members of NGO fraternity, who have come under the banner of Peace and Solidarity Forum were present on the platform. They were holding placards welcoming the passengers from North East and offering assistance to them. A few of the passengers who have come back said that they are assured of their safety in the city. It can be recalled that around 30,000 people had fled the city after rumours were spread that they will be attacked in retaliation to the violence in Assam. The Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home R Ashoka had also visited North East to convince those who fled the city.
