Major roads from Vijay chowk to Red Fort, the site of the Republic day parade on Thursday, will remain closed from 4 AM till the conclusion of the Republic day parade function. According to an advisory released by the Delhi Police, Rajindra Prasad road, Maulana Azad road, Thyagraj Marg, K.Kamaraj Marg, Red Cross road and Church road will remain shut. Rajpath has already been closed for traffic from this evening. Police has advised people to take alternative routes for their convenience.

Entry to the India Gate circle will also be prohibited for the duration of the parade. Only labeled vehicles and vehicles of bonafide residents will be allowed in the area bound by Kautilya Marg, Feroz Shah road, Humayun road, Bhagwan Das road and Baba Kharak Singh Marg besides others.

The metro stations of Rajiv Chowk, Barakhamba road, Mandi House, Pragati Maidan, Patel Chowk, Central Secratariat, Udyog Bhawan, Race Course and Khan Market metro stations will be closed from 6 AM to 12.30 PM. Though inter-change services will be allowed at Central Secretariat and Rajiv Chowk stations, trains will not stop at Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan and Race Course stations during this duration. Trains on Line 3 will run in short loops from Noida City Centre to Indraprastha, from Vaishali to Yamuna Bank and from Dwarka sector 21 to Rajiv Chowk.
