The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa has called for a special session of the State Assembly on the 15th of this month to discuss the Mullaperiyar Dam issue. In a statement released in Chennai on Sunday, Ms. Jayalalithaa said that the session would be a show of solidarity of all political parties on the issue. The statement also adds that a resolution would be passed in the Assembly to sustain the rights of the State on Mullaperiyar.
