<span style="color: #222222;">A one-day Special Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly was held at Shillong on Tuesday.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It replaced the earlier Government Resolution passed on September 27 this year with a new resolution with amendments on the inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eight Scheduled of the Indian Constitution.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma moved the proposal to replace the Resolution during the special session of the Legislative Assembly.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that the earlier Resolution is being replaced after careful examination. He said that incorporation of the new points is being done after consultation with the stakeholders to improve and make it stronger.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Chief Minister said that the Government is sending a single Resolution for the two languages as it would send a message of unity to the Centre.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, leader of the Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma suggested that a team of dedicated officers must now be entrusted to liaison with the Central Government so that the two languages do get its due Constitutional recognition. Other Members also supported the Government Resolution.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The House also passed the Meghalaya (Taking Over of District Council Lower Primary Schools) Second Amendment Bills-2018, while, Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong laid the 39th Annual Report of the Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Ltd, for the year 2016-17.</span><br />
