Special election camps will be organised across the country today for enrollment of voters whose names are missing in the electoral rolls. The Election Commission has written to all Chief Electoral Officers of States and Union Territories to organise such camps in every polling station where electoral rolls will be displayed.
AIR correspondent reports, the electors can visit their polling stations to check their names on the rolls and apply for fresh registration, if their names are missing. The Commission has advised people to fill up Form 6 at the camps if their names do not appear in the Voters' list.
The officials in the Special Camps will read out the rolls to people who cannot read and help fill up Form 6, which would be submitted in the Camp itself. The Commission has made it clear that a voter cannot vote if his or her name does not appear in the Voters' list.
