In Punjab, special efforts are underway by the state agriculture department to promote the cultivation of pulses. In this context, Hoshiarpur has been selected for cultivation of pulses this year. Good quality seeds of various pulses would be provided to the farmers on lesser rates by the agriculture department.This was disclosed by the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Agriculture Department, Sohan Singh Thandal during his visit to a grain market in Hoshiarpur district on Sunday. He said that farmers would be provided information about new techniques in sowing pulses.
