Bombay High Court today designated a Special Court in Mumbai to try cases involving gangster Chhota Rajan. Maharashtra Government today sought a special court in Mumbai to try such cases which was granted by the High Court. In December, 2015 a special court in Mumbai also had issued a fresh production warrant against Chhota Rajan in journalist Jyotirmay Dey murder case and said that he should be brought before the court on January 7. <br/><br/>He is alleged to be the main conspirator on whose behest Dey was gunned down in June 2011. The police had filed a chargesheet against Rajan who was absconding at that time, and his men under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act. Rajan was arrested at Bali airport in Indonesia on October 25 after he arrived from Australia, and was later deported to India. Maharashtra government has handed over all the cases against him to CBI. At present Chhota Rajan is in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
