Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the size of Indian economy will be doubled in a few years to 5 trillion US dollars as the government steps up on its reforms agenda to accelerate growth. Speaking at the India Investment Promotion Seminar at Osaka in Japan he said that the reforms will help the country move towards becoming a more developed economy.<br/><br/>Mr.Jaitley stated that India has received the distinction of being the fastest growing economy in last two years despite slow global growth. He said trends have shown that consumer spending and urban demand have moved up and slowly rural demand also is struggling up.The minister added that this will have a spiral effect in coming years on India's private sector which also has been waiting for the opportune moment.
