Andhra Pradesh Assembly has been adjourned for the day without transacting any business as the opposition Telugu Desam (TDP) and CPI members have stalled proceedings. Demanding an immediate discussion on the police lathicharge against students on Osmania University campus, the opposition members have stalled the proceedings. The trouble started soon after the house met in the morning when Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy rejected to take up adjournment motions notice given of by TDP seeking a discussion on police attacks on students.<br/> The Speaker has twice adjourned the house for a brief period when the TDP members thronged Speaker’s podium disrupting the proceedings. While displaying placards and sloganeering against the incident, the TDP members have stalled the business. CPI members have also joined them leading to disorder in the house. The Chief Minister K Rosaiah’s assurance that the Government would give a statement after getting full details has fallen on deaf ear of the agitating members. The speaker has adjourned the house for the day after repeated requests in vain to take up the agenda.
