Spain to extend state of emergency for up to two months

Spain may extend its state of emergency for up to two months to ensure smooth travel, after a wildcat strike by air traffic controllers brought flights to a standstill. Controllers only returned to work after the government declared a state of emergency. The walkout came just hours after the government passed new economic measures regulating controllers' working hours and pledging to sell part of state-owned airport authority AENA forup to 9 billion euros or 12 billion US dollar.
