Spain beat Honduras, Chile defeat Switzerland, Portugal trounces N Korea

In World Cup Football, Spain have kept alive their chances of making the Round of Sixteen. In a Group H clash at Ellis Park in Johannesburg last night, they beat Honduras by two goals to nil.

Both the goals came through David Villa in the 17th and 51st minutes. Villa, however, failed to complete a ha-trick when he missed a penalty in the second half. The win has given Spain three points.

In their opening game, the European champions had suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Switzerland.
Chile top the group with 6 points following their 1-0 win over Switzerland in Port Elizabeth on Monday. Switzerland have three points, following their win over Spain.

In the Group G encounter in Cape Town, Portugal recorded their biggest ever victory in the World Cup when they overwhelmed North Korea 7-0. The victory has taken Portugal on the verge of a round 16 berth with four points. North Korea were knocked out after suffering their second defeat in as many matches.
