The Samajwadi Party has supported reservations for the Jat community. In a press statement issued in Lucknow today, leader of the opposition in Uttar Pradesh Legislative assembly Shiv Pal Singh Yadav said that there is no reservation for Jats in central services and they are not getting the benefits of their social, economic and educational backwardness. <br/><br/>Clarifying the need for reservation to Jats, he said, the community is basically agrarian, but their share in agricultural land has shrank due to increase in population which has adversely affected their education and employment too.
