In the Uttar Pradesh Assembly by-election, main opposition Samajwadi Party successfully retained its both Nidhauli Kalan seat in Etah and Lakhimpur seat in Lakhimpur Kheri district. The Party candidates Amit Guarav and Uttakarsh Verma were declared elected on Tuesday after counting of votes. Polling was held on 20th of November. AIR correspondent reports ruling Bahujan Samajwadi Party had not fielded its candidates for the by elections. In both the seats independent candidates were nearest rivals.
