In Uttar Pradesh, demonstration and protest are being organized today by Samajwadi Party leaders and workers across the state on the last day of its three day agitation call. The agitation has been called by the party to protest against the alleged misrule of BSP government. Police resorted to lathi charge on demonstrators at many districts and arrested some of the activists during the protest. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that President of state unit of Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav was arrested in the morning at Amausi airport in Lucknow. He was scheduled to to lead the agitation. Local administration claimed that Mr. Yadav has been arrested as a preventive measure as prohibitory orders are in place in the state capital . Tight security arrangements have been made across the state to maintain law and order. More than 50 companies of PAC along with RAF and Home Guards have been deployed.
