SP promises special benefits for Muslims in its manifesto; To set up a Commission for poor belonging to upper castes

The Samajwadi party in its manifesto released in Lucknow today has promised to provide special benefits to Muslims and constitute a 'Sawarn Ayog' or upper caste commission to help the poor and downtrodden among upper castes.

Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav told media persons after releasing the manifesto that Education will be made totally free in the country if non-Cong, non-BJP government comes to power at the Centre.

The party also announced that it will spend seven percent of GDP instead of current four percent on education.He said the retirement age of government officials will be raised to 65 years.

He said the Dalit christians and Dalit Muslims will be accorded the status of scheduled castes. He also declared that reservation in government jobs for Muslims will be given according to their population.

The manifesto also promises that forward trading practices will be banned, which it said, is inflating inflation. The manifesto also promises that the left wing extremism will be controlled through dialogue with naxals.
