The Samajwadi Party organized protest day on Thursday against Mayawati Government In Uttar Pradesh. Party state spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhary told AIR Allahabad correspondent that a large number of Party workers were detained at several places by police when they were tried to distribute pamphlets to the people narrating failures of Mayawati government in the state. Minor Scuffle between party workers and police has been reported from some places. The police however claimed that that amidst of tight security the protest day passed peacefully. Since the UP Board examination also began the same day, security arrangements had already been beefed up in the state.
