In Uttar Pradesh, ruling Samajwadi Party today demanded to the Election Commission to ban entry of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah into the State for his alleged inflammatory speeches and threatening the state government.
A party spokesperson has told AIR correspondent that the SP`s spokesperson and National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav has given a memorandum to the Election Commission seeking FIR against Shah for his alleged violation of model code of conduct.
In his representation Yadav has said that in his speeches yesterday at Bijnore and Muzaffarnagar Shah has also threatened the electorates. He has demanded that not only FIR should be lodged against Shah but his entry should be banned into the Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress has lodged a complain with the Election Commission, EC, against BJP's General Secretary Amit Shah for his alleged provocative speech in Uttar Pradesh. The party has accused Shah of creating animosity between communities.
Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today demanded that the Election Commission should order registration of a criminal case against BJP leader Amit Shah for his alleged provocative speech in Uttar Pradesh. In a statement, the party termed the remarks as a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct.It alleged that Shah's remarks are his party’s deliberate strategy to vitiate the atmosphere of communal harmony at the time of elections.
Meanwhile, reacting to the complain, BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said that Amit Shah's comments have been taken out of the context. She alleged that it is the Congress which is communalising the election by meeting religious leaders like Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid.
Amit Shah reportedly delivered a speech on Thursday in a village near Muzaffarnagar calling for 'revenge for the insult' during the violence in the area, which took place last year.
Congress has attacked BJP leader Amit Shah's hate speech saying this only shows BJP can go to any extent just for winning the elections. He also defending the meeting of Congress President Sonia Gandhi with Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, He said there is nothing wrong in meeting with members of a community and it is the responsibility of each political party to reach out to them.
Reacting to Shahi Imam's episode, BJP vice president and spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused Congress of playing communal card.
