Wall Street's benchmark index, the S&P 500, settled above the milestone of 5000 for the first time, on Friday. The index opened gap at 5,004 on Friday and traded in a range of 5,000 – 5,030 before settling at 5026, up 0.57 per cent from its previous close of 4997.
Among the Wall Street's other indices, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite added 196 point or 1.25 per cent, to settle at 15,990, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended lower at 38671, down 54 points, or 0.14 per cent, on Friday.
