The Dow Jones and the S&P 500 ended higher yesterday lifted by energy stocks. Share of energy-related companies climbed following surprise cuts to the OPEC group's oil output targets. Yesterday, oil prices rose sharply after leading members of the OPEC and their allies including Russia's announcement of cutting oil output by more than one million barrels a day from May until the end of the year.
On the other hand, the Nasdaq index fell marginally amid plunge in Tesla shares after its electric vehicle deliveries for the first quarter disappointed investors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose one percent and the S&P 500 added 0.4 percent while the Nasdaq Composite index fell 0.3 percent.
