The total Kharif sown area in the country stands at 445.11 lakh hectare as compared to 275.10 lakh hectare last year. Significant increase has been recorded in oilseeds sowing this season and it has reached 101.26 lakh hactare while last year it was 22.24 lakh hectare. Similarly pulses sowing have touched 32.61 lakh hectare this season.
