Southwest monsoon turns away from North, moves West

The Southwest monsoon is likely to start withdrawing from North West India towards the end of this month. According to an official release, rainfall activity may intensify over peninsular India and decrease over other parts of the country in the next week. The country as a whole has so far received 2 per cent above normal rainfall this season. Fourty five percent area of the country received excess rainfall while 25 per cent received normal rainfall till 15th of this month.
