Southwest monsoon active over UP, MP, Telangana, Kerala

Southwest monsoon is active over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Heavy rainfall has occurred at a few places over Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over West Bengal, Sikkim and Karnataka. Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall today at isolated places over Rajasthan, and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim and parts of South India.<br/><br/>The country as a whole has received 501.8 millimetre rainfall till yesterday as against normal rainfall of 553.1 millimetre. This is nine percent below normal. Region wise, South peninsula has received 21 percent deficient rain and Central India has received nine percent deficient rainfall. The rainfall in northwestern part of the country have been two percent above normal.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Delhi witnessed a clear sky today following a cloudy morning, with the minimum temperature settling at 26.5 degrees Celsius. Met department has predicted rainfall and thunderstorm in some areas of the city later in the day. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degree Celsius.
