<span style="color: #222222;">The Southern Railway's daily goods service between Egmore in Chennai and Nagercoil is receiving good patronage from small merchants and agriculturists. The daily service, via the longer main line route through Thanjavoor, had been started in view of the lockdown announced in the country from 25th of March.<br />''<br />''Railway sources clarified that the tenure of the goods only service has been extended to be co-terminus with the time period of Lockdown IV. It will now run up to 31st of May. The service is a special boon to small merchants and farmers who have perishable items to transport within the state on a daily basis. In the meantime, engineering staff is making use of the lesser train traffic due to lockdown for completing track as well as train maintenance work.</span><br />
