The Southern Railway has decided to introduce week – end premier train services between Coonoor and Mettupalayam in Udhagamandalam (Ooty),  part of the world renowned Nilagiri Mountain Railway that has been awarded the Heritage Railway Status by UN. The premier trains will be run from Mettupalayam, on the foot hills of the Western Ghats on all Saturdays from December 8th, The return trip will be run on all Sundays. <br />''<br />''The premier train will leave Mettupalayam at 9.10 am and reach Coonoor at 12.30 pm on the same day. On the return leg, the train will leave Coonoor at 1.30 pm and reach Mettupalayam by 4.30 pm. Reservations for the train are open now. Southern railway officials have confirmed that Ist class ticket on the premier train will cost Rs 1100.00 and second class ticket will cost Rs 800.00. Each passenger will be gifted a souvenir worth Rs 200.00. The premier train carry carry a maximum of 132 passengers.<br />''<br />
