South-west Monsoon to hit Odisha coast by Jun 8

In a major relief to people from heat, the Indian Meteorological Department today said that the south-west monsoon will enter Odisha on June 8. The Bhubaneswar Met centre sources said the onset of south-west monsoon will take place over Andaman and Nicobar Island in the next 3-4 days. <br/><br/>From there, it will move towards the Kerala coast and gradually move towards north-east and hit the Odisha coast by June 8. Under the influence of the circulation, a low pressure area is likely to form by this evening which is expected to become further well marked over the next 48 hours. <br/><br/>While, rainfall is likely to increase in the coastal belt after 18th of this month, the Met sources said there is a possibility of isolated rain or thundershower at some places in Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Balasore and Bhadrak districts this evening due to Norwester.<br/><br/>
