South west Monsoon has gained momentum in the southern states of the country. Heavy rain lashed almost all parts of Kerala during the last 24 hours. The MeT Office has said, heavy to very heavy rain will continue in the state till Monday. The state government has activated District Emergency Operation Centres to monitor monsoon-related calamities.<br/><br/>In Tamil Nadu as well, heavy rain for the past five days has thrown normal life out of gear in many districts, especially Kannya Kumari. The district administration is closely monitoring the alarmingly rising level in rivers.<br/><br/>Goa also has been receiving heavy pre-monsoon showers for the past few days. According to the MeT Office, the south-west monsoon is likely to reach Goa today.<br/><br/>Delhiites today woke up to a pleasant morning with the minimum temperature settling at around 25 degrees Celsius. Light showers, which started in the early morning, led to a drop in mercury. <br/><br/>The pre-monsoon showers have brought some respite to the people in Jammu and its surrounding areas from the scorching heat.
