South Korea's Democratic Party has named former party chief Moon Jae-in as its candidate for the upcoming presidential election. Political parties are selecting their nominees for the election to be held on May 9th of a successor to ousted president Park Geun-hye. <br/><br/>The Democratic Party, the country's largest party and now in opposition, held its primary elections in Seoul and nearby areas today. The party announced the results of the voting after Moon secured a majority of ballots at 57 percent, and the party's nomination. Eyes are now on whether the victory gives him momentum in the run-up to the presidential race.
