South Korea's centrist People's Party has chosen former co-leader Ahn Cheol-soo as its candidate for the presidential election to be held next month. Ahn won 75 percent of the vote in the 7th and final primary round in the central city of Daejeon today. He had won all the previous rounds. <br/><br/>In his acceptance speech, Ahn said he will create a country in which those who have worked hard will succeed. He expressed his wish to build a fair society and stressed that he would tackle the issue of unemployment.<br/><br/>Other major political parties have also chosen their presidential candidates.<br/>The May 9th election will select a successor to the ousted Park Geun-hye.
