South Korea beat Greece by 2-0

South Korea have become the first team to win a match in the on-going World Cup Football tournament in South Africa. In a Group 'B' encounter, at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth today, South Korea beat Greece by a convincing margin of Two goals to Nil. At half-time, the winners led One-Nil through Lee Jung-soo's goal in the 7th minute. The second goal was netted by Park Ji Sung in the 52nd minute.

On the inaugural day yesterday, both the matches had failed to produce a result. South Africa held Mexico 1-1, while France and Uruguay played a goal-less draw.

In today's other two encounters, Argentina will meet Nigeria in Group 'B' at Johannesburg at 1930 hours, while England will take on the United States in a Group 'C' match beginning at midnight.
