The South African President, Mr. Jacob Zuma, is in Tripoli for talks with Col. Gaddafi to try to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Libya. A spokesman for Mr. Zuma said his main objectives were securing an immediate cease-fire and the delivery of humanitarian aid. A media report says President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Tripoli for what one of Col. Gaddafi's advisers admits may be the last chance of a diplomatic way out. But the prospects of a deal look slim. An African Union ceasefire proposal, President Zuma is bringing, has already been rejected by both Libya's rebels and NATO if it is not a call on the Libyan leader to step aside. His supporters though say there is no possibility of Col. Gaddafi either leaving office or Libya.
