South Africa win toss; elect batting

South Africa were 11 for two wicket against India in the first cricket test match at Nagpur on day one when the reports last came. The visitors, who elected to bat first after winning the toss, have made one change bringing in Paul Harris in place of Ryan. The new-look Indian middle order has S. Badrinath and Wriddiman Saha making their test debut for India. VVS Laxman has been ruled out because of fitness concerns while Rohit Sharma, who was to cover-up for Laxman, injured himself in the morning during practice is also down and out of the playing XI. Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh were already out due to injuries.
