South Africa beat India by 135 runs in the first cricket one-dayer at Kingsmead in Durban on Wednesday night. Chasing a victory target of 290 runs, India were never in the hunt after they lost their first four batsmen for just 43 runs and were ultimately bundled out for 154 in 35.4 overs. Virat Kohli with a well-made 54 off 70 balls and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni with 25 runs off 35 balls helped India past the 150-mark.Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, South Africa scored 289 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. AB de Villers made 76 off 69 balls, while JP Duminy scored 73 off 89 balls for the hosts.
