Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday appealed to the tribal youths of the country, especially their North-eastern brethrens, to utilise their energy and vigour and contribute in the ongoing renewed process of building a strong and vibrant India. Sonowal was addressing the guests and participating-delegates at the opening session of the 7th National Youth Meet Camp that opened, under the National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme, at the CRPF Group Centre at 9th Mile in Guwahati.The Union Minister requested the delegate-youths, selected from 20 districts of Jharkhand and Odisha, to enjoy and enrich themselves with the exposure and interaction at the seven day exchange camp and sensitize their family members and other locals in respect of the rich and varied cultural heritage, ethos and values prevalent in the toured areas.Over 280 tribal youths and their team-managers have already arrived in Guwahti to attend the camp.The visiting delegates will meet the State Governor and other dignitaries.They will attend and participate in learning field-visits, interact with local youths, visit famous historical and cultural sites and pick-up life-skills at special training sessions during the seven-day meet at the Camp.The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and Group CRPF Centre are hosting the Meet in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.A similar camp is currently on at Bengaluru in the south. Similar meets will be held at Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Alipur (Delhi) and Chennai in the coming weeks under the national programme.
