Congress President Sonia Gandhi today criticised the Left Front Government in West Bengal alleging that the dreams shown by the Left Front to the people in the State were not fulfilled. Addressing an election rally in Jalpaiguri today she said, the people remain poor and their lifestyle is not changed even 34 years of Left Front ruling in West Bengal. BJP President, Nitin Gadkari and Trinamool Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee, CPI(M) State Secretary, Mr. Biman Basu have also addressed election rallies to woo the voters. Campaigning for first phase of Assembly poll will come to an end tomorrow. Campaigning for this phase of elections has reached to its feverish pitch as the star campaigner of all major political parties hit the campaign trail. Many of the candidates went for door to door campaign of the voters to seek their blessings on the Bengali New Years day today. AIR Kolkata Correspondent reports that poll workers of 16 remote areas in Darjeeling district will leave for their destination tomorrow. Security arrangements have been beefed up in all the districts to ensured free and fair voting. Strong vigil have been kept along inter – state and international boarder. Altogether 364 candidates are in the fray for first phase of poll which will take place in 54 seats covering six North Bengal districts on next Monday.
