The UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has said that 2500 crore rupees will be spent on Raebareli Rail Coach Factory and its annual production capacity will be enhanced to 3000 coaches.
Addressing a function organized for the dedication of factory to the nation Mrs.Gandhi said that about 800 crore rupees has been spent till now for the commencement of the factory and high technology is being utilized for the production of coaches. She said that better facilities to the passengers, safety and conservation of environment should be priorities of the railways. Highlighting the roll of railways for economic development of the country and providing employment to the youths, she said that initiatives should be taken in this regard.
She also announced that electrification of Raebareli – Mughalsarai and doubling of Raebarely – Allahabad rail track will be initiated soon.
Addressing the function, Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal announced stoppage of Padmawat Express at Bachcharawa station and Lucknow – Vindhyachal intercity express at Harchandpur station on the demand of local residents. He also announced that enhancement of production capacity of the rail coach factory will be done very soon.
