Sonia pays tributes to Hindi litterateur Mahavir Pd Dwivedi

The Congress President, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi today unveiled a statue of eminent Hindi litterateur Acharya Mahaveer Prasad Dwiwedi at his native village Daulatpur in Rae Bareli. At a function, organised on the occasion,Mrs. Gandhi said,Acharya Prasad is not only credited for his contribution to shape the present form of Hindi, but he also brought up a generation of Hindi laureates.She said, the noted Hindi novelist faced a number of problems while working as an editor of Saraswati magazine, but he never compromised with his principles and ideologies. Mrs Sonia Gandhi praised the novelist for helping dalits by opposing caste discrimination.Earlier, Mrs Sonia Gandhi visited some self-help groups in Lalganj town and also the residence of a few party leaders, including a former MLA, to pay condolence on the death of their relatives.
