Sonia Lather and Neeraj today advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Women's Boxing Championships being held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.Lather who is a former silver-medallist at this event in 57 kg category won her opening-round bout to make the last-eight stage beating Japan's Kurogi Kana. Neeraj, a debutant in 51kg category beat Myanmar's Nally Nally. However, Pooja Rani in 81kg category made a first-round exit. She lost to China's Yang Xiaoli in a unanimous verdict.Neeraj will be up against Korea's Pang Chol Mi in the quarterfinals while Lather will be squaring off against China's Yin Junhua in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
