Sonia Gandhi pledges speedy justice to the victim; Police invokes murder charges against accused

UPA Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi today pledged that the girl will get speedy justice.

In a Television broadcast, Ms. Gandhi said that swift and fitting punishment will be given to the perpeterators of the crime.

She urged people to remain calm and help strengthen the Government's collective resolve to stop crimes against women.

Police sources say that a chargesheet will be filled on the 3rd of next month in Delhi.

Delhi Police Special Commissioner, Dharmendra Kumar said that a chargesheet will be filed under section 302 IPC, which is the penal section for murder.

The eminent lawyer Mr. Dhyan Krishnan will work as special public prosecutor in the bus rape case fee of cost.
Meanwhile, Delhi court on Saturday remanded one of the six accused in gang rape case to judicial custody for 12 days. The accused was the last one to be arrested in the case and was produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate after expiry of his police custody.
