Sonia Gandhi charges BJP with trying to divide the country, while Congress wants to unite

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has launched a blistering attack against BJP saying ,while Congress is trying to unite the country, the opposition party is trying to divide the nation. She was inaugurating the Congress Convention and the “Nirbhaya Kerala; Surakshita Kerala” at Kochi today. Charging the opposition parties with not showing interest in the fight against corruption, she said stalling parliament every day, the opposition does not want to pass any bills. She said that the coming Lok Sabha polls are all about defending national ideals like unity and secularism. Sonia Gandhi also regretted that the Women's Reservation Bill was not passed in the Lok Sabha for lack of consensus. Addressing a rally organised by INTUC in Kollam today, the UPA Chairperson said Congress party is in favour of enacting a National law on minimum wages for workers and this should be made statutory.

She also attended a Congress meeting at Minicoy Island in Lakshadweep.
