Congress President, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi has alleged that some parties are politicising every issue and disturb Parliamentary proceedings. Inaugurating Barmer Lift Canal project in Rajasthan today, she said that every issue could be resolved through a debate in Parliament. She urged members to take part in Parliamentary proceedings as the country is facing challenges like social tension, inflation, floods and drought. Mrs. Gandhi said these problems have to be addressed by rising above party lines.Earlier, Mrs. Gandhi inaugurated Barmer Lift Drinking water project. It would provide drinking water to 691 villages apart from Barmer town. She also launched Mukhya Mantri Urban BPL Housing scheme and presented cheques of first instalment to five women beneficiaries. One lakh houses will be provided to urban BPL families under the scheme every year. Mrs. Gandhi later visited rain affected areas of Madrampura region of Jaipur and met the affected people. Later talking to newsmen she expressed satisfaction over the relief measures and said that she will ask the Chief Minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot to extend all possible help to the affected people.
