Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi has said that few parties are politicizing every issue and trying to disturb the parliamentary proceedings. She said that any issue could be resolved through debate in parliament.Mrs Sonia Gandhi was inaugurating Barmer lift canal project at Barmer in Rajasthan today.Addressing a public meeting Mrs Gandhi said that keeping in view of dignity of the democracy and the parliament all parties should take part in parliamentary proceedings.She said that country is facing today challenges like socialtension,inflation,flood and drought and these problems should be resolved by across party line thinking.Before this Mrs Gandhi inaugurated Barmer lift drinking water project. It will provide drinking water to 691 villages apart from Barmer town . Mrs Gandhi said that UPA Government is committed to uplift weaker sections,minorities and the poor people . Sonia Gandhi also launched Mukhyamantri urban BPL housing scheme. She presented cheques of first instalment of this scheme to 5 women.One lakh houses will be provided to urban BPL families every year under the scheme.On this occasion Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said that state government has launched many schemes to provide water to desert area. He said that Congress is committed to fight with corruption. Union Minister Dr CP Joshi also addressed the function.
