Congress President, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi today accused the BJP of spreading lies against the UPA Government and said the party ruling Karnataka is rampantly indulging in corruption. Addressing a public meeting at Mangalore, she accused the BJP of just pretending to fight corruption and said that the party was running corrupt governments in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Mrs. Gandhi gave the details of the measures taken by the UPA to deal with the menace of corruption and asserted that Government is keen to pass the Lok Pal Bill in Parliament. She also accused the BJP of dividing society on communal lines and said Congress would fight these forces. She cautioned Congress workers against complacency and urged them to fight unitedly against the BJP.
