Over 80,000 gazette officers in Maharashtra today went on a cease work to protest the killing of Additional District Collector Yashwant Sonawane by members of the oil Mafia.President of the Maharashtra Gazetted Officers Association Mahasangh Ravindra Dhongade said that they have not announced the protest as a strike but they are shunning work to register protest against the gruesome act which has shaken the government employees.The government employees will hold a protest meeting at the State Secretariat in Mumbai.These officers met Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan who assured them that a thorough probe will be conducted into the incident.Additional District Collector Yashwant Sonawane was burnt alive by suspected members of local oil Mafia. Eleven persons have been arrested in this confection so far.
