The Somnath Trust has decided to deposit about 6 kilogram of gold under Government's Gold monetisation scheme. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, he is glad to know that the trust has decided to deposit gold under the scheme. The scheme is basically a new deposit tool to ensure mobilization of gold possessed by various families and institutions in the country. It facilitates the depositors of gold to earn interest on their metal accounts.<br/> <br/>Prime Minister while attending a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Somnath Trust at his residence in New Delhi yesterday stressed the need to develop Somnath as an ancient heritage pilgrimage site as well as a tourist destination. Mr Modi also suggested excavations of areas to establish various missing historic links. He said, high-tech marine attractions and virtual reality shows should be covered in the future plan. <br/><br/>During the meeting, the progress of various Projects of continuous growth of devotees visiting Somnath was reviewed.
