Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla today said that some countries are leveraging their expertise in cyberspace to achieve their political and security-related objectives and indulging in cross-border terrorism.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''He said, open societies have been particularly vulnerable to cyber-attacks and disinformation campaigns.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The Foreign Secretary said this in his statement at the UN Security Council Open Debate on "Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Cyber Security".<br />''&nbsp;<br />''He said, the world is witnessing a sophisticated use of cyberspace by terrorists around the world to broaden their appeal, spread virulent propaganda, incite hatred and violence, recruit youth and raise funds.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''He added that as a victim of terrorism, India has always underlined the need for Member States to address and tackle the implications of terrorist exploitation of the cyber domain more strategically.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The Foreign Secretary said, the pervasive and boundary less nature of cyberspace implies that countries are only as strong as the weakest link in the global network.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He stressed that 'Only together' can the goal of a globally secure resilient cyberspace be achieved. He said, it must be ensured that no country is left behind in this collective endeavour.</span><br />
