India's Somdev Devvarman has won India's first ever gold medal in men's singles tennis event at Asian Games with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan. This is India's seventh Gold in the Ghanghzhou Games. With one more gold in its kitty, India has now risen to seventh position in the overall Asian Games medal tally.Somdev had earlier won gold in the men's doubles tennis with Sanam Singh.
